Isabelle LECLERCQ
At first glance, Isabelle Leclercq’s sculptures resemble oyster shells, with this roughness born of a slow accumulation of limestone material, layer after layer, to finally achieve a full and closed form. It is as if we find them adults, finally having reached the end of a perfectly natural growth. Of course, it is her construction process, a small flattened coil patiently placed on a small flattened coil, which creates this resemblance and gives her creations a sense of belonging to the more universal imaginary and organic worlds.
