Jongjin PARK

Jongjin Park vit et travaille en Corée du Sud.

Ses sculptures nous surprennent par la nature improbable de leur construction qui, clairement et radicalement, étend les potentialités expressives de l’argile. D’un seul coup, nous sommes parcourus par cette sensation si rare de se trouver en présence de la nouveauté ; face à un travail si techniquement original qu’il génère de fait une esthétique précédemment inconnue. C’est comme si nous étions témoins d’une naissance inattendue.

Mais où est-ce que Jongjin veut nous amener ? Vers un monde hybride et peu familier où les rigidités euclidiennes sont adoucies par la traction gravitationnelle et les effets de la chaleur, où les limites et les contours se recomposent autour de ces nuances en cascade avec lesquelles l’artiste construit sa poésie subtile. Il nous fait entrer dans un univers stimulant et rafraîchissant, analogue à celui de Rimbaud où des mots usuels construisent un langage nouveau.
