Hélène BARROS

Young jeweller whose initial training was, very usefully, scientific, Hélène Barros discovered the intriguing world of personal ornament a little later than many of her generation. Attracted by the prospect of working with metal ; sawing, soldering, and forging, she found herself rapidly drawn into the excitement of transforming ideas into concrete objects.
It’s hardly surprising then that her creations are frequently inspired by the forms and fantasies of her first loves, biology and chemistry. Here her intimate knowledge of two complementary aspects of the natural world is put to good use to give her jewellery originality and finesse.
