Anne-Sophie GILLOEN

There is something deeply poetic in Anne-Sophie’s sculptures. From her characters, with generous volumes, bloom an overflowing human kindness that she duplicates with her fanciful Flaubertian captions. Anchored to the ground by their imposing bodily solidity, they are clearly characters who live, like all of us, as much elsewhere as here, a sweet whim or a confused dream that is more important to them than the material daily life.
