Andreas Hinder is one of the key members of the young generation of German ceramic sculptors. Having grown up in Höhr-Grenzhausen, the “La Borne” of Germany, he knows by heart the weight of the little town’s ceramic past.
His works are a fine balance between a restrained formalism, which tends to employ elegant brancusian simplifications, and a finely observed naturalism which lends his animals both the serenity and detachment they need to invest intelligently the demanding worlds of wit and gravitas.
All his sculptures are made from frost-resistant stoneware and can be left outside in all weathers. They are the perfect companions for terraces, patios, rock gardens and in the areas around swimming pools.
